LOTTE BIOLOGICS Kicks Off Industry–Academia Collaboration with Syracuse University
LOTTE BIOLOGICS announced that it has embarked on establishing a framework for Industry-Academia Collaboration with the invitation of a delegation from Syracuse University.
A delegation from Syracuse University, consisting of 20 students, 1 faculty member, and 1 staff member, visited the headquarters of LOTTE BIOLOGICS located in LOTTE World Tower in Seoul on the 26th. This visit was realized following the meeting between Kent Syverud, Chancellor of Syracuse University, and top executives of the LOTTE Group that took place in March, providing an opportunity for further collaboration.
LOTTE BIOLOGICS discussed various topics with the visiting delegation, including the history and current status of the LOTTE Group, current forecasts and trends in the global pharmaceutical and biotech industry, the background of LOTTE Group's new bio-business initiative, and the business strategy of LOTTE BIOLOGICS. Additionally, the delegation had the opportunity to visit LOTTE World Tower, the world's fifth tallest building, and gain a deeper understanding of the diversified business portfolio of the LOTTE Group.
Through this visit and exchange, LOTTE BIOLOGICS and Syracuse University plan to continue industry-academia collaboration over the long haul. Syracuse University will offer opportunities for graduates to pursue careers in the biotech industry, while LOTTE BIOLOGICS hopes to enhance the expertise of its workforce through educational opportunities and proactively secure outstanding international talent.
A representative from LOTTE BIOLOGICS said, "We plan to establish a talent infrastructure that will lead the Syracuse production base in the United States, and continue our ongoing collaboration with Syracuse University. It consists of 13 colleges and is well-known for producing notable alumni such as President Joe Biden and Governor Kathy Hochul of New York.
