LOTTE BIOLOGICS Signs an Agreement to Develop a Joint Educational Program with Syracuse University

Developing an introductory educational program for prospective bio talents in conjunction with Syracuse University

The program is planned to consist of theoretical education on production processes, reflecting the rich field experience of LOTTE BIOLOGICS team

LOTTE BIOLOGICS (CEO Richard Lee) announced on the 26th KST (25th local time in Syracuse), that it had signed an agreement with Syracuse University, U.S. for the joint development of an industry-academic cooperation educational program.

Founded in 1870, Syracuse University is one of the major prestigious private universities in the U.S. It is composed of 13 colleges and is well-known domestically as the alma mater of notable individuals such as Joe Biden, the President of the United States, and Kathy Hochul, the Governor of New York.

Through this agreement, the institutions will jointly develop an introductory education program for prospective bio talents from all over the world, without restrictions on nationality, gender, or age. This program will not only be for Syracuse University students, but anyone interested in the industry. The course will be designed to provide detailed content with the goal of narrowing the gap between the educational field that cultivates talent, and the industry that hires the talent. To achieve this, LOTTE BIOLOGICS' team, with their rich industrial field experience, will participate directly in designing the curriculum and reviewing the lecture plans, intending to reflect the characteristics of the field, practical experience, and trends, rather than focusing solely on theory.

With the initiation of the development of this education program, LOTTE BIOLOGICS and Syracuse University will continue their mid- to long-term industry-academic cooperation. Syracuse University will be able to provide its graduates with employment opportunities in the bio industry, while LOTTE BIOLOGICS can look forward to an educational program that enhances the expertise of its workforce and the preemptive acquisition of outstanding international talent.

LOTTE BIOLOGICS CEO Richard Lee stated, "Through the development of this education program, we hope that the participants will have the opportunity to experience both the specialized knowledge of Syracuse University, and the practical expertise of LOTTE BIOLOGICS." He added, "We will continue to strive to provide quality education for future talent, both domestically and internationally, who wish to enter the bio industry, through collaboration with various industry-academic institutions."

“This collaboration is a win for Syracuse University and for LOTTE BIOLOGICS in developing world-class talent from around the world,” says Syracuse University Chancellor Kent Syverud. “Through this program, Syracuse University and LOTTE BIOLOGICS will help cultivate a talented 21st century workforce with the unique skills, experience, and knowledge needed to succeed in the cutting-edge biopharmaceutical field. Syracuse University is proud to enhance our already strong partnership with international industry leader LOTTE BIOLOGICS through this new program.”

Meanwhile, LOTTE BIOLOGICS signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Korea Polytechnic University in October last year and established the 'LOTTE BIOLOGICS Academy Cohort' at the Bio Campus of Korea Polytechnic University to cultivate practical bio talents. This program has been operating since March this year with courses necessary for core theories and practices, including production, QC/QA, GMP, and Validation.
